The Fall Pro Lab starts September 5. Here's what's waiting for you...

Hi and Happy Monday!

I want to talk about something I get asked all the time:

“How do I actually finish a script, and then make sure it’s good enough to be seen?”

Not just finished in the sense of typing FADE OUT. Finished in the sense of: developed, pressure-tested, rewritten with notes from people who know what the industry wants, and ready to be submitted somewhere that matters.

That’s a pretty different thing entirely. And it’s what The Story Farm Fall Pro Screenwriting Lab is built to do.

The Fall Lab starts September 5. Enrollment closes August 31. And right now, there is still space for you. Since September is always back to school time, then let's jump on it!

Here’s the program if you're hearing about it for the first time:

It’s 12 weeks of structured, deadline-driven work - every Saturday, 11am - 12:30pm CT - taught by someone who has spent over 20 years writing, developing, pitching to studios, streamers, and production companies, and who has helped writers land reps, options, and contest awards (not just quarterfinals!)

It is not a passive experience. You will be expected to show up, hit your deadlines, and do the work. The bar is high, but that’s the point. And even if you've only written a couple scripts, or you feel you're new at this...the education you will receive is invaluable.

And if you do the work, here’s what’s waiting on the other side:

  • Weekly notes on assignments
  • Your first 20 pages personally reviewed and evaluated by me by Week 7
  • Two full script reads from ISA readers: 1 Deep Dive + 1 Development Evaluation
  • A full read with written notes from me on your rewrite
  • Consideration for ISA’s Development Slate12-month membership in the Story Farm community (monthly workshops, office hours, logline feedback, pitch practice)
  • Dedicated online coursework and custom story tools

The full post-Lab support schedule:

  • Draft deadline: November 28
  • ISA Deep Dive notes back to you: mid-January 2027
  • Rewrite deadline: January 15, 2027
  • Notes from me on rewrite: mid-February 2027
  • Development Slate submission: March 15, 2027
  • Final notes and Development Slate decision: late April 2027

That’s 8 months of support. The most extensive development system Story Farm has ever offered.

Investment:

💰 $1,395 in full

💰 Or 5 payments of $299

The payment plan exists because I want the right writers in this Lab - not just the ones who can write a check today. If that’s what makes the difference for you, use it.

A couple of things worth knowing:

The Lab is limited to 20 writers. We keep it small on purpose, because this is a development community that only works when everyone is invested in each other. Past writers have said that one of the most valuable aspecdts of the Lab is reading others' work, and having them read yours.

If you think this might be a good fit for you and you want to talk it through - reach out. Email me directly at max@thestoryfarm.org I will be happy to answer questions.

The deadline to enroll is August 31. The Lab begins September 5.

P.S. If you’ve been sitting on a draft that’s been stalled for months - or if you’ve finished scripts before but never gotten serious notes from people who know what they’re looking at - this is the program. September 5. Three weeks away. Let’s go.
